How to Write Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are one of the most important parts of planning a wedding. The invitations are the first thing that your guests will see and relate to your wedding, so you will want to have beautiful invitations that reflect your relationship, but you will also want to have the invitations properly written and addressed.

A great tip for couples is to not use pre-written invitation messages. This is your wedding, make sure your invitations reflect your personality.

The first thing you will need to do is decide who is announcing the wedding. Then you need to decide on whether you will want to write the invitations in a formal or casual manner. This will be determined on who you are and how you want to address your friends and family.

If you are having the ceremony in a church, you should use the phrase "the honor of your presence." If it doesn't take place in a place of worship, you can use a more casual phrase.

Make sure that the full names of the bride, groom, and parents of each are all present and spelled correctly. Then, you will have to write out the date, all in words. The tie of the ceremony will be listed afterwards. Make sure that the location and full address of that location is listed. You should also enclose a map and the reply card for the guests. This way, you will be able to know how many people to plan on coming to the ceremony.
